Penzance based community interest company, PZ Conservation C.I.C., is the recipient of a generous grant from the Heritage Lottery Fund (HLF), as part of their Skills for the Future programme, to fund professional development traineeships for book and archive conservators.

 

My job at PZ Conservation consisted in writing condition and treatment reports, dealing with clients, undertaking conservation treatments on various objects from public and private collections, working with Cornwall Archives, organising workshops and training days, teaching NADFAS volunteers and writing on the blog about our activities.

 

A fifth of my time was spent on pro bono projects, supporting local heritage organisations in Cornwall or introducing conservation and heritage to different audiences.
